Amsterdam Light Festival is on
Amsterdam is at its most beautiful seen from the water. But once a year it’s even more special: during the Amsterdam Light Festival. For more than fifty days the historical city centre and its canals are (literally) put in the limelight by spectacular illuminated artworks.
Centred on the theme of ‘A Bright City’, the third edition of the event features a walking route and a canal cruise, also known as Water Colors. This special boat route through the canals allows you to enjoy the light art, projections and installations by international artists.
Maybe a canal cruise sounds a bit touristy or retarded, but I can really recommend this one. Even if you live in Amsterdam, this is a nice and comfy way to experience the festival. The 39 artworks are spread all over town, so it’s quite a walk if you want to see them all. And it’s getting freaking freezing, too!
